asked the Postmaster-General if he will state the latest date for posting letters and Christmas cards to Australia by surface mail in each of the years 1957 to 1966.

The latest dates of posting for overseas countries are fixed mainly in relation to the latest dates of acceptance notified to us by the distant administration and the incidence of shipping services that are expected to ensure arrival of the mails not later than the dates notified to us.

For Australia the posting dates for the years 1957–66 have been as follows:
