§ Mr. George BrownThere has been no British Consulate in Shanghai since 1949. A member of the Office of the British Charge d'Affaires in Peking is, however, stationed there to look after the interests of British Nationals. Following a request from the Chinese Ministry of200W Foreign Affairs, the Consular Arms on the gate posts outside his house were removed on the 24th of August.
It is legally correct to claim that these arms should be displayed only at a consulate.
