HC Deb 04 November 1966 vol 735 c185W
Mr. Onslow

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in the interests of staff economy, he will institute a system of acknowledging correspondence by printed cards, as is the practice of a number of other Departments, instead of by typed and signed letters as at present.

Mr. Jay

It is standard practice in the Board of Trade to acknowledge letters by means of printed postcards except when the nature of the communication calls for an interim reply rather than a bare acknowledgement.
