§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Minister of Transport, if she will give an assurance, following the undertaking given by her Department to the effect that the formation of the Aberystwyth-Carmarthen railway will not be disturbed until the Welsh Economic Council considered the 191W question of that railway line, that the railway bridge between Aberystwyth and Pont Llanio will be allowed to remain standing until a final decision is reached.
§ Mr. SwinglerI understand that the bridge is unsafe and is to be demolished immediately. I am unable therefore to give my hon. Friend the categorical assurance which he seeks. But the formation of the Aberystwyth-Carmarthen railway line will not be disposed of until the Welsh Economic Council have completed their reconsideration of this question.
