HC Deb 02 November 1966 vol 735 cc95-6W
Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he is satisfied that the capacity of fish-meal factories in the United Kingdom is adequate, in view of the need to reduce dependence on imported supplies at the present time wherever possible; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hoy

Factory capacity is normally more than sufficient to deal with supplies of raw material, although exceptionally heavy landings of herring and sprats last winter caused temporary difficulties at two Scottish factories.
