HC Deb 01 November 1966 vol 735 c60W
81. Mr. Wyatt

asked the Minister of Power whether he is satisfied that all the coal tips in Leicestershire are safe; and what is the method of inspection.

Mr. Marsh

Following the Aberfan disaster the National Coal Board has supplemented its normal inspection procedures and a special inspection has been carried out at all tips for which they are responsible. I have been assured by the Board that none of its tips in the Leicestershire area constituted a danger to life or property.

With regard to the method of the inspection, I have asked the Chairman of the National Coal Board to write to the hon. Member.
