Osborneasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) in view of the fact that London's predominance as an international financial centre earned for Great Britain last year over £200 million in foreign currency, if he will review all the restrictions on the City's activities so to enable more to be earned by these invisible exports; and if he will make a statement;
(2) if he is aware that exchange control does harm to Great Britain in the long run; if lie will discuss this problem with the Governor of the Bank of England in order to see how these controls may be ended; and if he will make a statement.
