§ Mr. Edelmanasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what steps he is taking to increase facilities for the training of doctors in the Coventry area.
§ Mr. Goronwy RobertsI understand from my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health that facilities in this area for the postgraduate training of doctors are being increased with the encouragement of the Birmingham Regional Hospital Board. The location of any new medical schools is a matter for the University Grants Committee in the first instance; meanwhile, the Royal Commission on Medical Education is considering "what changes may be needed in the pattern, number and location of the institutions providing medical education."
