§ Mr. Dempseyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the starting date he has approved for the new road improvement scheme at Whifflet Viaduct; what is the nature of the proposed improvement; and what is the estimated cost of the development and the amount to be met by Government grant.
§ Mr. RossWork on the Whifflet Viaduct scheme started about 10 months ago. In March I approved a grant of about £29,000 towards the cost, estimated at about £38,600, of a further scheme for 39W realigning and widening Whifflet Street from Dundyvan Road almost to Meadow Street. The starting date is a matter for the Town Council.
