§ Mr. Armstrongasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations whether he has yet been informed of the final financial outcome of the Commonwealth Arts Festival.
§ Mr. BottomleyThe Commonwealth Arts Festival Society's final audited accounts are not yet available. Present indications are that they will reveal a deficit of about £23,000. Her Majesty's Government and the G.L.C. have agreed to assist the Society to meet their remaining obligations. Her Majesty's Government's grant will be up to £15,000.
The Supplementary Estimate will be presented to Parliament for approval in due course. Meanwhile, advances, as necessary, will be made from the Civil Contingencies Fund.
