§ Mr. SwinglerThere are no plans for such a motorway.
By-passes at Wideopen, Seaton Burn, Morpeth and Alnwick, as well as a number of smaller schemes on Al north of Newcastle, are included in the current five-year programme. The need for further improvement of the route between Newcastle and Berwick is being examined as part of my right hon. Friend's present studies of inter-urban trunk routes for the period after 1970.
