HC Deb 17 May 1966 vol 728 cc243-4W
Mr. William Edwards

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what increase in translation personnel there has been in the Welsh Office since 14th December 1965; how many Government forms are already available in Welsh; how many have been translated since 14th October 1965;and how many are in the course of preparation.

Mr. Cledwyn Hughes

One additional translator has been appointed to the Welsh Office. A number of Government forms in the Welsh language are already available. A full survey of the whole range of official forms is being conducted and when this is completed I shall consider what further steps to take to publish Welsh versions.

As this involves research and consultation with other Departments it must necessarily take some time.
