§ Mr. Hefferasked the Minister of Public Building and Works if he will take steps, by legislation or otherwise, to establish a public building corporation which will concentrate on house-building by industrialised methods in those conurbations which are in most need of public housing.
§ Mr. PrenticeThe Government are determined to extend the use of industrialised building. This year more than a quarter of public sector housing should be system built. The National Building Agency are helping in this by their appraisal of building systems and by giving technical assistance to local authorities. I do not see a need for a further initiative on the lines suggested by my hon. Friend but I shall keep under review this and any other method which might speed production.
