83. Earl of Dalkeithasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what were the special factors which accounted for the number of persons emigrating from Scotland in 1965 rising by nearly 10,000 over the average figure for the preceding five years.
§ Mr. RossThe latest published estimate of net emigration is for the year ending 30th June 1965. Since 1961 the main factor in increasing emigration has been a rise in net emigration overseas particularly to Australia and Canada.
