§ Mr. Brian Parkynasked the Minister of Power what progress has been made in the use of the magneto hydrodynamic principle in electrical power generation.
§ Mr. MarshArrangements for the large-scale experiment which the Central Electricity Generating Board is carrying out in collaboration with electrical plant manufacturers, the Water Tube Boiler Makers' Association and the National Coal Board are well advanced. A test programme is expected to begin towards the end of this year and last until the early part of next year. It is too soon to assess the possibility of using the principle in the commercial generation of electricity.
