§ Mr. TaverneMy right hon. Friend will not hesitate to propose that the courts and the police should have stronger powers to deal with hooliganism if this proves necessary. The maintenance of public order in seaside resorts, as elsewhere, is a police responsibility; it will continue to be effectively discharged.
