§ 43. Mr. Maxwell-Hyslopasked the Minister of Aviation what steps he took to enable Middle East Airlines to take over the British Overseas Airways Corporation's order for three VC10 aircraft, thereby saving the latter a substantial proportion of the £2.5 million cancellation charges thereon.
§ Mr. MulleyThe Government took every practicable step to secure the sale of VC10s to Middle East Airlines. The cancellation of the VC10s was, as I explained in my statement to the House on 9th March, a commercial matter between B.O.A.C. and Vickers.
