HC Deb 04 May 1966 vol 727 c122W
Mr. Jopling

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many applications for the farm improvement grant he has approved, to the latest convenient date, which would qualify for payment under the terms of the Agriculture Bill.

Mr. John Mackie

Applications cannot be approved under the Agriculture Bill but to preserve applicants' rights to claim grant under the Appropriation Act or the Agriculture Act in due course written agreement is being given to a start of work meanwhile if the farmer so wishes. From mid-November 1965 to the end of April 1966 written agreement has been given to a start of work on 6.659 improvements in the United Kingdom.
