HC Deb 04 May 1966 vol 727 cc117-8W
80. Mr. Allason

asked the Minister of Transport whether she is aware of the heavy traffic congestion on the A41 between King's Langley and Tring; and what will be the cost of each of the several improvements needed to remedy this.

Mr. Swingler

We are aware of the present overloading of this road. Road widening at a cost of £88,000 is now in progress. Improvements costing £¾ million are also to be carried out. By-passes ultimately required at Hemel Hempstead and King's Langley, Berkhamsted and Tring will cost £3½ million, £2¾ million and £0.9 million respectively.
