HC Deb 02 May 1966 vol 727 c82W
Viscount Lambton

asked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the local hardship which will be caused, she will reconsider her decision to close Alnwick Railway Station.

Mr. John Morris

My right hon. Friend has taken no such decision.

The Transport Users Consultative Committee will be reporting to her on hardship. It may also make proposals for alleviating it, for example through additional alternative services. Before reaching a decision she will consider both the effect on users and the economic planning implications.
