HC Deb 09 March 1966 vol 725 c550W
100. Mr. John E. Talbot

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware of the shortage of telephone equipment on the Wolverhampton, Brierley Hill and Kingswinford telephone exchanges; and what accelerated provision he will make of services adequate to the public demand in these areas.

Mr. Joseph Slater

I am sorry that the exchanges serving Wolverhampton, Brierley Hill, and Kingswinford are short of equipment owing to rapid industrial and residential growth in these areas. Additional equipment is being installed as quickly as possible, to enable service to be given to waiting applicants at Wolverhampton starting at the end of this month and later at Brierley Hill and Kingswinford.
