HC Deb 09 March 1966 vol 725 c582W
Sir Clive Bossom

asked the Minister of Health if he will investigate the possibility of allowing blackcurrant juice as an alternative to orange juice as a welfare food.

Mr. K. Robinson

I am advised that there is no evidence giving cause for concern about children's intake of vitamin C in general, and that there would be no advantage in providing blackcurrant juice which contains only about one-third of the ascorbic acid content of concentrated orange juice.
