§ 56. Mr. Manuelasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will take steps, by legislation or otherwise, to en courage local authorities to employ more traffic wardens in all areas where wardens could relieve members of the police forces for more urgent and necessary duties.
§ Mr. WillisMy right hon. Friend has just made an Order extending the range of duties which traffic wardens may undertake and I hope this will encourage the employment of more wardens. He will also emphasise in a circular the part which wardens can play in releasing police officers for other duties.
