§ 73. Sir J. Langford-Holtasked the Secretary of State for Defence in which places launches and motor boats are maintained under the separate direction of more than one of the Services; and what is his policy in this respect.
§ Mr. J. P. W. MallalieuLaunches, motor boats and similar small craft are 525W maintained by all three Services at Malta, Aden, Bahrein, Singapore and Hong King. In addition, two of the three Services maintain these craft at Plymouth, Londonderry, Portsmouth, Gilbraltar and Cyprus.
Future policy for the use of these small craft is currently being examined as part of the study of water transport which was referred to in Part II of the Statement on the Defence Estimates 1966 (Command 2902).
