HC Deb 09 March 1966 vol 725 cc577-8W
Mr. Dodds-Parker

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will announce his proposals on the request by the Food and Agriculture Organisation for a contribution to their campaign to prevent the importation of exotic strains of foot-and-mouth disease into Europe.

Mr. Peart

I am arranging for a credit of up to £100,000 available for the purchase of vaccine to be opened at the Animal Virus Research Institute, Pirbright in favour of F.A.O. as the U.K.'s proportion of the E.E.C. contribution to F.A.O. for this campaign. Pending the voting of this money by means of a Supplementary Estimate the money will be provided by advances from the Civil Contingencies Fund.
