HC Deb 09 March 1966 vol 725 c554W
Rear-Admiral Morgan Giles

asked the Postmaster-General what steps he is taking to have the General Post Office credit card accepted by all countries in Europe for telephone calls to the United Kingdom, to other European countries and to North America.

Mr. Joseph Slater

All European countries have been asked to accept British credit cards for telephone calls back to the United Kingdom; only those countries listed in my right hon. Friend's reply to the hon. and gallant Member's Question of the 23rd February agreed to do so. There would be practical accounting difficulties in the use of a British credit card for a call between two foreign countries.
