§ Mr. Joseph SlaterThe figures for 1st January, 1965, are not available. On the 31st December, 1965, 4,738 call offices in the London Telecommunications Region were not in full working order; of these 3,624 could be used for emergency purposes. It is not possible to say when the position will improve, but a number of measures are in hand designed to deter vandals and thieves.
