HC Deb 09 March 1966 vol 725 c572W
Mr. William Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what proposals he has for relieving the pressure on Borstal accommodation in England and Wales.

Miss Bacon

The new borstal allocation centre at Manchester will be opened early in May. Because of the increased pressure on borstal accommodation generally my right hon. Friend proposes also shortly to convert Stoke Heath prison in Shropshire for use as a boys' borstal. This will provide accommodation for up to 300 boys.
