§ Sir Knox Cunninghamasked the Minister of Aviation if he will state whether structural failure existed on the British Overseas Airways Corporation Boeing 707 aircraft before it crashed on Mount Fuji.
§ Mr. MulleyPreliminary information suggests that the aircraft suffered a structural failure. As I made clear in my statement to the House on 7th March, the reason for this failure is not yet known. I have no knowledge of any defect or weakness in the structure of the aircraft.
