§ Mr. DiamondExcluding the Post Office there were 10,700 more non-industrial civil servants on 1st January, 1966, than on 1st October, 1964. The total additional annual cost including such things as pension commitments and accommodation cannot be assessed precisely, but is estimated at about £11 million.
