(2) what was the total number of persons in the Paymaster-General's Department employed upon ensuring the security of the official records in the years 1963–64, 1964–65 and 1965–66.
§ Mr. MacDermotI assume that the hon. Member is referring to classified material. The departmental records of the Paymaster-General's Office are not within this category; no staff are so employed and there has been no expenditure of this kind. The custody of such records forms part of the normal duties of a Minister's Private Office staff.
