HC Deb 01 March 1966 vol 725 c271W
Mr. Woodhouse

asked the Minister of Labour why he had refused a voucher for entry into the United Kingdom to Miss Renée Thornber from Bombay, an Indian citizen of Anglo-Indian descent, who wished to settle in this country with her mother, a British citizen, and her married sister, already resident in the United Kingdom, and who had been promised employment by Glaxo Laboratories Limited.

Mr. Thornton

Vouchers are not issued for conditional offers of employment and the offer of employment made to Miss Thornber by Glaxo Laboratories Limited was conditional upon her passing the firm's medical examination when she arrived in the United Kingdom.
