Mr. John Wells

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many gypsies, tinkers and similar travellers are estimated to be in Scotland; and how many camp sites are in existence and are planned for these people.

Neither figure is available, but such travellers do not present a substantial problem in Scotland, where local authorities have been very helpful in meeting their needs for accommodation.
