§ Mr. Juddasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what action he proposes to take on the recommendations submitted in the Report of the Sub-Committee on Water Charges in 1963.
§ Mr. MacCollMy right hon. Friend had intended to start discussions with interested bodies on the draft of a circular to water undertakers about the Report. But he has deferred doing so because of the risk that general introduction of the changes advocated by the Sub-Committee would in some areas place an undue burden on householders. Meanwhile, a number of water undertakers are bringing their charges into line with individual recommendations in214W the Report, and he will continue to consider on their merits proposals of this kind which require his consent.
