§ Mr. Mackintoshasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many applications for studentships were received by the Social Sciences Research Council from the Scottish universities in the current year; how many applications for research grants and fellowships were received from the same universities; and how many in each category were awarded.
§ Mr. Goronwy RobertsApplications have been received for 127 studentships, 14 research grants and two fellowships. The final distribution of studentships which will be tenable in the academic year 1966–67, has not yet been made; five research grants have been approved and nine are still under consideration; both the fellowships have been awarded.
