§ Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Minister of Health what estimate he has made of the effect upon cigarette sales of the ban on advertising cigarettes on television.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonIt is not possible to isolate the effect of any one of the various factors which may affect cigarette sales. Statistics for the year 1965 show a fall in cigarette sales compared with each of the previous two years, and also a fall in the number of people smoking cigarettes, particularly of those under 20 years of age.
