§ Mr. MacDermotCosts of collection and administration are not available for England and Wales; in Scotland they are estimated at about 25 per cent, to 30 per cent, of receipts. Receipts in 1964–65 were £1,073,933. 2,863,947 licences were issued in that year. For this number the yield, if licences were increased as suggested, would be about £2.9 million, £5.7 million, and £14.3 million respectively.
