Friend is informed by the British Railways Board that on 15th October, 1964, the total staff of 46,581 employed for railway workshops consisted of 6,269 salaried and 40,312 other staff; on 2nd June, 1966—the nearest convenient date to the one asked for—the total was 42,900, made up of 6,073 salaried and 36,827 other staff.
§ Mr. Charles Morrisonasked the Minister of Transport what proportion of the 85W output of British Railways workshops in 1965 was represented by sales to other nationalised industries and private companies, respectively.
