§ Mr. Bruce-Gardyneasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his latest estimate of the number of houses which will be completed in Scotland during the current financial year.
§ Mr. RossI cannot make a precise estimate during this first quarter of the year. On average it takes about 15 months to build a house of up to 5 storeys, so about 35,000 of these, which was the number started in 1965, should be completed in 1966–67. The time taken to build multi-storey blocks depends on height and type, and I cannot estimate280W how many of the 11,000 houses in blocks which were building on 1st April will be completed during the year.
