§ 48. Mr. Grimondasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he intends to announce the Government's proposals for transport and freight policy in the Highlands and Islands.
§ Mr. RossAt the end of this year I expect to receive a report from the Highland Transport Board on the transport needs of the Highlands and Islands, and the Government's views on the Board's recommendations will be indicated as soon as possible thereafter. National transport policy is at present under review and my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport and I are bearing in mind the special needs of the Highlands and Islands.
