Mr. Sharpiesasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will state the average time taken for the construction of houses for owner-occupation in 1965.
§ Mr. Mellish:At the end of 1965 the average construction time for private houses and flats in England and Wales was 11.5 months. Most of them will have been built for owner-occupation.
Separate figures for houses only are not available but in the private sector flats constitute only a very small proportion of the total.
