§ Mr. M. StewartChina has conducted one atmospheric test during the last year. The United States have announced that they have conducted thirty-seven tests underground and, as hon. Members know, there has been one British test. We are uncertain about other countries. None has been announced by the Soviet Union, but at least six have been reported; none has been announced by France. We hope that the Eighteen Nation Disarmament Committee, which resumes tomorrow, will give serious attention to the negotiations for a comprehensive test ban.
