HC Deb 27 July 1966 vol 732 c268W
Mr. Buchanan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland. in view of the financial difficulties confronting the Scottish Central Library and the continued unwillingness of a constituent member of the library to contribute its share of the finance necessary under the Public Libraries Act, 1955 along with the Government and all other local authorities, if he will take steps to place the finances of the Scottish Central Library on such a basis as will ensure that the services provided to all libraries in Scotland will be maintained by the Scottish Central Library.

Mr. Ross

I understand that the Library intends to hold a meeting in the early autumn at which the future basis of its financial support can be discussed by all the interested parties, including my Department, and I hope that this will result in a satisfactory solution being found.
