HC Deb 27 July 1966 vol 732 c272W
Mr. James Davidson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what assurances he gave to the Scottish Landowners' Federation that he has no present intention of applying the rural development board proposals of the Agriculture Bill to the Highland Development Board area, or of setting up rural development boards elsewhere in Scotland.

Mr. Willis

My right hon. Friend told the Scottish Landowners' Federation, as he told the House on 30th November, 1965, that he saw no immediate need to set up rural development boards in Scotland or to confer rural development board powers on the Highlands and Islands Development Board.
