HC Deb 27 July 1966 vol 732 c295W
Mr. Russell Johnston

asked the President of the Board of Trade what representations he has received from the National Federation of Consumer Groups regarding the introduction of a Protection of Consumers (Trade Descriptions) Bill; and what reply he has sent to them.

Mr. Darling

The Federation have sent me a copy of the resolution passed at their Annual General Meeting deploring the omission of the Protection of Consumers (Trade Descriptions) Bill from the present session and asking the Government to make time available for this Bill. My right hon. Friend has told the Federation that he intends to introduce this legislation as soon as Parliamentary time permits.
