HC Deb 27 July 1966 vol 732 cc294-5W
Mr. William Edwards

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will hold an inquiry into the pleasure-boat disaster which occurred at Penmaenpool, near Dolgellau, Merioneth, on Friday, 22nd July.

Mr. Mason

Yes, a Board of Trade Surveyor has been appointed to carry out a preliminary inquiry into the circumstances of this casualty. When I have received his report, I shall decide whether to order a public formal investigation.

I am sure the House will join me in expressing deepest sympathy with the relatives of those who lost their lives in this tragic accident.
