HC Deb 27 July 1966 vol 732 c257W
3. Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is now satisfied with the progress being made in the housebuilding programme; and if he will make an estimate of the likely completions in the current financial year.

Dr. Dickson Mabon

The figures for the second quarter of the year show a great improvement from the first quarter. Our meetings with housing conveners lead me to expect that the number of houses approved and started in the next six months will be better than in these two quarters. I see no reason to alter the estimate of completions which my right hon. Friend gave on 15th and 20th June in reply to questions.
