HC Deb 27 July 1966 vol 732 c298W
Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the total annual expenditure across the Exchanges by United Kingdom tourists abroad spending individually more than £50 in the latest financial year for which statistics are available; and if he will give a breakdown by countries of where this money was spent.

Mr. MacDermot

It is estimated that in 1965 holiday expenditure over £50 a head outside the sterling area was of the order of £100 million. The information asked for in the second part of the Question is not available.
