Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the fish hatcheries established under his authority, indicating the number and kind of fish, including shell fish, produced in 289W each hatchery and the effects on these on the development and sale of fish so produced and made available to British fish consumers.
§ Mr. HoyMy Department's laboratories conduct experimental work on the hatching of fish. Further development of this research is carried on jointly with the White Fish Authority at their two hatcheries which produce oysters, plaice and soles. The work has not yet reached the commercial stage.
