Mr. John Smithasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he proposes to allow numbers 23 to 25 Old Buildings, Lincoln's Inn, including the gateway, to be demolished, in spite of the fact that these buildings are listed Grade I: and why this matter was, exceptionally, not referred to the Holford Committee.
§ Mr. CrossmanI am at present considering an application by the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn for redevelopment involving Nos. 24 to 26 Old Buildings and part of the Gate House building. I intend to consult the Historic Buildings Council on the matter, as the functions of the Holford Committee have now been amalgamated with those of the Council.
